What Is NST ## The Breakdown Neurosomatic Therapy, called NST for short, is a type of corrective manual therapy that treats all soft tissue to influence changes in posture. It is an integrated whole body approach that aims to understand the structure first, then correct what is causing dysfunction. ## Why Posture Matters The body spends a lot of energy holding us in our postural patterns, and even more energy holding us in dysfunctional ones. NST utilizes the idea that muscles move bones. When dysfunctional posture creates compensation patterns, those compensations show up as muscle imbalances and ultimately as chronic pain. NST works on the structural pattern, not just the spot that hurts. ## Where NST comes from NST was developed by Paul St. John and Randall Clark and is taught at the Center for Neurosomatic Studies in Clearwater, Florida. ## See if NST is right for you.
